Carrot Tower Defense Quests Guide
How special quests, Bernard's cave, and the Gilbert storyline work in Update 2.

Update 2 expanded Carrot TD's PvE layer with special quests, a upgraded Rubert house, and story breadcrumbs pointing to Gilbert — a future antagonist allied with the Nibblers. Quests unlock after account progression gates, giving veterans new goals beyond wave farming and summons.
Bernard's Cave — Unlock Requirements
Visit Bernard's cave in the lobby ("Looking for help" / "Have some experience"). Bernard only offers quests after you reach 10 match wins on your account — higher than the five wins required for vault code 1416. If the cave appears empty, check your win total on the profile/results screen and farm normal wins using the early game build.
Active Quest Slots
Bernard runs three concurrent quests shown at the bottom of your interface. Complete objectives across matches — wave clears, unit usage, or map-specific tasks depending on the live patch — then return to Bernard for rewards. Quest tables may rotate with updates; cross-check latest update after each patch.
Gilbert Storyline Teaser
Finishing Bernard's quest chain reveals lore about Gilbert: a character shown in childhood flashbacks, hiding in a secret lair, and implied to collaborate with Nibblers ("Nibkill" references in developer content). A clickable lore button in Rubert's upgraded house opens this teaser — expect future maps or bosses tied to Gilbert. Boss content may overlap with Carrot Obliterator and Extreme Mode additions.
Rubert's House Upgrade
Update 2 visually upgraded Rubert's house in the lobby hub. Besides cosmetics, it hosts the Gilbert lore interaction. Explore the hub after patching — new NPC placements sometimes hint at upcoming units or maps listed on official Trello.
Daily & Weekly Quests
Alongside Bernard's special quests, Carrot TD added broader daily and weekly mission tracks (introduced alongside Goo/Ninja update content). These reward carrots, progression tokens, or event bonuses during 2× Carrot Weekends. Stack weekend multipliers with economy farming and Extreme Mode's 500-carrot payout when skilled enough.
Quest Progression Tips
- Pad win count on Woodlands normal before chasing 10-win gate.
- After 5 wins, unlock vault 1416 on Deep Tunnels for carrot boost — vault guide.
- Equip reliable DPS (Builder Rabbit, Sniper Bunny) so quest objectives do not fail to leaks.
- Pair quest farming with trading to fill roster gaps without extra summons.
